GROWING OUR ENERGY FUTURE

At Harvestone Low Carbon Partners, we own and operate three ethanol biorefineries that buy locally-grown corn and turn it into clean-burning, American-made fuel. We're also actively developing infrastructure projects to capture and permanently sequester the carbon dioxide that is generated in the ethanol production process. In doing so, we are creating steady market for North Dakota and Indiana farmers as we build a renewable, and sustainable energy future.

Blue Flint

Biorefining - Continuously Refined

Our Blue Flint plant, located near Underwood, North Dakota, has been in operation since 2007. Blue Flint purchases more than 23 million bushels of corn from North Dakota farmers and uses it to produce over 70 million gallons of clean-burning ethanol, annually, as well as distillers grains for livestock feed, and corn oil for biodiesel production. The Blue Flint plant also provides E85 to retail fuel stations all across the state.

We built the Blue Flint plant next to Rainbow Energy's- Coal Creek Station, North Dakota's largest power plant, for a very good reason: co-location. We use waste steam from Coal Creek Station to provide the energy needed for our ethanol refining process and to dry distillers grains. Our partnership with Rainbow Energy differentiates Blue Flint as one of the most cost-effective, energy efficient and environmentally friendly biorefinieries in the country.

Dakota Spirit

Building on Success

We built on the success of our Blue Flint plant with the development of Dakota Spirit biorefinery in 2015, which is co-located next to Great River Energy's Spiritwood Station a power plant located near Spiritwood, North Dakota. Spiritwood Station was originally designed for dual purpose: generating electricity and providing waste steam for industrial users. This dual purpose makes Spiritwood an ideal partner for Dakota Spirit's ethanol production. Steam from Spriritwood powers our refining process, giving Dakota Spirit the same advantages as our Blue Flint location: it's cost-effective, energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The Dakota Spirit plant produces over 70 million gallons of clean-burning ethanol from mor than 23 million bushels of corn, each year, in addition to distillers grains and corn oil.

IBEC

Fueling the Community

Iroquois Bio Energy Company (IBEC) began operations in 2007, in Rensselaer, Indiana, located about 80 miles southeast of Chicago. IBEC currently produces approximately 60 million gallons of clean burning ethanol per year from approximately 20 million bushels of corn. IBEC's corn feedstock is procured solely from local farms, is dry milled and processed through a natural gas fired plant. IBEC's finished products include: denatured ethanol in both E98 and E85 blends, DDGS, and corn oil. IBEC also offers public access to its ethanol blended products through an on-site retail gas pump.
